Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician.Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.Assists in covering the front desk as required.Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.QualificationsEducation:Completion of LPN/LVN nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.Minimum of one (1) year college or Technical School.Associates Degree preferred.Current BLS/CPR certification requiredCurrent state registered license for LPN/LVNWork experience:Minimum of one (1) years working as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse required.Knowledge:General office proceduresSkills:Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsBilingual in English and Spanish preferredAbilities:Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactionsEquipment operated:Office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone systemEKG machineComputerWork environment:Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environmentMay be exposed to infectious and contagious diseasesMay be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstancesOccasionally subject to irregular hoursMay be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessaryMental/Physical Requirements:Must be ability to handle emergency or crisis situationMust be able to see with corrective eye wearMust be able to hear clearly with assistanceEEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
