Nurse Coordinator in the Imaging Department functions as a charge
nurse and is responsible for coordinating and supervising the
nursing care needs of patients in Radiology. This process includes
assessing the needs of each assigned patient and planning the
nursing care needed to meet those needs. Once planned, the
Radiology Nurse Coordinator is responsible for assuring that the
plan of care is carried out through his/her performance and
leadership. Performs Radiology nursing activities; responsible for
medications and narcotics in the Radiology Department. Assures high
quality nursing care with focus on patient care and education.
Effectively participates and promotes Star Service Skills to
include service recovery. In addition, the Radiology Nurse
Coordinator in Special Procedures/Imaging will have validated
orientation and competency in Imaging. What You Will Do in This
Role:
- Participates in hospital or departmental performance
improvement activities.
- Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
- Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students,
volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork
essential to ensuring quality patient care.
- Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients.
- Initiates and performs standard interventions consistent with
plan of care and standards of practice and patient care.
- Assist Radiologists and Anesthesiologists during cases
requiring moderate sedation or deep sedation.
- Performs patient and family education.What Qualifications You
Will Need:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by
either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers
issued by either the American Heart Association or American Red
Cross
- Associates Degree; BSN/MSN preferred
- Current TX RN license or RN Compact license
- Minimum 2 years general nursing experience required
- Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab experience is highly
preferred; Critical Care/ICU or ER experience preferred
- National Specialty Certification preferred This role requires
you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and
/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious
