Certified Medical Assistant/CMA - Heart & Vascular Specialists - Full-Time, Days Fast-paced, high-volume clinic looking for a top skilled CMA *Sign-On for Eligible New Hires * Work location: 1105 North Central Expressway, Allen, TX 75013 Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Travel: 50% to surrounding clinics as needed ( mileage reimbursement provided) Heart & Vascular Specialists Department Highlights:Strong teamwork and collaborationFast-paced, high volume inbound/outbound callsCompassion and empathy to our patients and the TeamJoin an innovative team working towards making healthcare more accessible, integrated, and reliableHere's What You NeedHigh School Diploma or equivalent (required)CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)New Grads Welcome with Completed Onsite ExternshipBilingual in English / Spanish (preferred)1 years of recent Medical Clinic experience (preferred)ACLS or BCLS (preferred)Ability to perform EKGs, draw blood and administer injectionsBasic computer skills using medical management application systemsEffectively communicate with staff and patientsThorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviationsDemonstrate sound judgement in emergency situationsTake appropriate action in urgent circumstancesMaintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patientsPossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismWhat You Will DoDelivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant ProcessPerforms general patient care by following established standards and procedures.Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG.Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
