Specialty Center Fairview Work Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per
week; four-10 hour shifts Tuesday- Friday Clinic Information:
Children's Health Specialty Center Fairview is an affiliation with
Children's Health Medical Center Plano's Andrews Institute. Andrews
Institute will operate a pediatric orthopedic and sports medicine
clinic within the specialty center. The specialty center is
scheduled to open in October 2025 and will offer an inclusive range
of orthopedic out-patient care with a focus on fracture care,
sports medicine care, and concussion care. Job Type: On-Site Why

The Advanced Practice Practitioner functions as a health care
provider within a particular specialty service providing
age-appropriate care to a culturally diverse patient population.
The Advanced Practice Practitioner works interdependently and
independently within the health care team providing care that is
family-centered as well as efficient, respectful of time, and
fiscally responsible. This role supports the organizational mission
of making life better for children by improving access to care,
providing continuity of care as well as ensuring the delivery of
quality care. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Enhances communication and collaborative relationships with
multidisciplinary healthcare team members
- Assist families in identifying goals and priorities, and help
with decision-making
- Provide emotional, social, educational and psychosocial
support
- Help arrange supportive home care services
- Provides direct clinical care in an expanded role guided by
education, certification, licensure, clinical expertise and
Prescriptive Authority Agreement or Delegation Protocol that
incorporates comprehensive assessment skills, diagnostic ability,
critical thinking, independent decision-making, collaborative
management of health and illness problems, leadership within
complex systems, and the ability to critically analyze and
translate research findings into practice.
- Evaluates patient response to interventions and modifies care
plan as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. How You'll Be
Successful: WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least two years job related experience preferred
- At least two years experience in pediatrics nursing
preferred
- Experience within pediatric orthopedics preferred EDUCATION
- Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent
experience Advanced Professional Education to support required
licensing required.
- A minimum of a master's degree (Nursing or Physician Assistant
Studies) is required. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Current license in the state of Texas (RN and APRN for Nurse
Practitioner, PA for Physician Assistant), required.
- Appropriate accompanying board certification to state license,
required.
- Current CPR/BLS for the Healthcare Provider from the American
Heart Association, upon hire required.
- APN: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of
Texas (or current valid Compact RN license) upon hire
required.
- APN: Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a
national certifying body recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing
in the appropriate population focus area upon hire required.
- PA: Current certificate issued by the National Commission on
Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required.
- APN & PA: BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
required upon hire
- APN & PA: Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
certification if practicing in the neonatal intensive care unit
(NICU) upon hire required.
- APN & PA with hospital privileges: Current PALS (Pediatric
Advanced Life Support) certification 180 days required. JOB PROFILE
