Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description:L3Harris is seeking a Software Engineering Manager that can grow a team of software engineers while advancing their own career in a management role. This leader and motivator interacts with software engineers in planning, designing, and testing of complex systems.Essential Functions:

• Supervise 15 - 20 employees
• Manage Software Engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, planning and training employees
• Coach, counseling, monitor, and appraise staff performance
• Drive engineering process improvements
• Participate in proposals and review cost estimates/proposal packages
• Manage resources to meet program needs through allocation of available personnel or hiring new personnel
• Manage engineering contracts and overhead budgets monthly and identify hiring needs to staff the programs effectively
• Make moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions
• Plan and establish goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the short-term operational results for the department
• Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
  • OR Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degreePreferred Additional Skills:
    • Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
    • Experience leading and mentoring engineering and/or IT resources with Aerospace/DoD programs
    • Software Engineering management experience
    • Experience with work forecasting and managing staffing needs
    • Experience with technical recruiting and hiring
    • Exposure to Agile software development (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
    • Exposure with using project management techniques such as Earned Value to measure project performance and progress in an objective manner
    • Exposure with managing Capital improvement projects and other IT resource planning
    • Experience providing proposals for future contracts with strong basis of estimates
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
    • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond the primary work groupThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. #LI-Hybrid
