JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for die attach process of semiconductor laser wafer fab within the factory. The Engineer will maintain process control and yield objectives and contributes process development initiatives in collaboration with other groups. The engineer has a deep understanding of die attach processes and provides input to device design and integration. This person will work on tasks that span over multiple process areas. KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + Develop die attach process for semiconductor laser devices. + Monitors SPC data and maintains process control. + Maintains process stepwise yield and investigates yield issues in the unit process and is tasked with developing/implementing corrective actions. + Characterize/optimize process and develop CTRL plan and OCAP. + Works on developing continuous improvement processes/activities to reduce scrap, improve process capability, reduce cost as well as decrease cycle time. + Responsible for designing/executing engineering experiments. + Responsible for writing process specification documentation. + Trains Process Technicians on unit-processes. + Collaborates with other functional groups, including Operation, Equipment Engineering, Process Integration, Design, Supply Chain, etc. to achieve business unit/organizational objectives. + Resolves technical issues involving more than one process area. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE + A Bachelors' degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experienced preferred SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS + Knowledge of general semiconductor wafer processing and engineering practices. + Knowledge of die attach processes. + Knowledge of engineering statistics. + Knowledge of semiconductor lasers is preferred. + Good written/oral communication skill. + Fluency in MS Office suite as well as JMP or other statistics software. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Ability to work in a class 100/1000 clean room for extended periods + Ability to wear full cleanroom attire (smock, mask, etc.) + Ability to work with and/or around chemicals (such as solids and acids) + Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time + Ability to lift up to 16-30 Pounds + Ability to Push/Pull up to 16-30 pounds + Ability to sit for up to 4 hours at a time SAFETY REQUIREMENTS + Everyone must follow the site EHS procedures and the II-VI Corporate EHS standards. + Ability to work with laser safety glasses/goggles on for extended time.
