Our team plays a crucial role in facilitating the funding/financing i/e flow of cash and securities in financial markets. We work closely with the Repo and CP trading desks to fund bond inventory and cover short positions both internally or for our client franchise. In addition to funding Firm Inventory, our trading desk also provides market liquidity to our customers. As a sales force we build relationships with clients that are essential to achieving the best funding objectives while protecting our trading desk and client interests alike.

These products mainly encompass:

  • Repurchase Agreements (Repo's) on Government Bonds
  • Repurchase Agreements (Repo's) on Emerging Market, Credit Bonds and SSAs
  • European Commercial Paper
  • Triparty and structured credit funding (Extendible, Evergreen financing, Collateral Upgrade/Downgrade)

The salesforce covers a different mix of client base including bank treasuries, hedge funds, asset managers, money market funds, pension & insurance funds and central banks/ sovereign wealth funds as well as corporate clients.

How we are structured:

The salesforce is unique in rates as we cover a wide variety of client accounts primarily for funding products meaning we have exposure to an assortment of different clients. The majority of the team is based in London, but we work closely with Paris, New York, Tokyo based on product focus.

Repo Sales/ Repo Trading/ ECP Sales/ ECP trading

What we look for:

An individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills who thrives in a fast paced environment. Rates salespeople should be passionate about macroeconomics and able to analyse macro data. Given the overlapping nature of products and clients we are looking for a team player who is able to interact easily and build strong relationships. Languages would be a valuable plus (French, German for example). There is a huge opportunity set in EMEA as BofASE expands its business in EMEA. Our focus is mainly on Repo, but the role offer exposure to a wide breadth of products if clients require.
