About this job:

The role is a key client interface working closely with the AES Sales Team in the successful winning and delivery of major events customers and projects.

Requiring strong commercial acumen along with excellent on-site people management skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and demands while representing AES in a robust and professional manner.

You will need to be a strong project manager capable of dealing with the ever-changing nature of the projects and client demands. You will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinate the budget activities concerned with the installation, maintenance, and teardown of specialized event industry jobs. Participate in the conceptual development of the project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

Working closely with the AES Europe Operations Manager and Planning Manager to ensure the efficient and cost effective deployment of resources to successful meet the operational and financial objectives of the projects.

Provide account management support the sales team, as required.

Education / Qualifications

* A Project Management qualification is highly desirable but not essential * A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is desirable

Professional skills / experience

* Experience managing or coordinating projects, possibly gained over a period of 4 years or longer * Experience of major events or in similar role, possibly gained over a period of 4 years or longer * Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously is highly desirable * Financial skills to manage and optimize budgets and profit margins * Demonstrated delivery of business success using a network of key contacts within the Events sector * Experience working with generators, HVAC systems, and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus * Experience in the heavy equipment rental industry is a plus * Event production understanding and proven experience * Confident to manage teams directly and remotely * Managing in a Health and Safety culture * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Your key responsibilities:

We're Dynamic & Innovative.

* Successful management of specific projects and major client orders to a successful completion both operationally and finically. This will include at multiple project deliveries. * Working with the AES Operations Manager to develop class leading project management tools, successfully differentiating AES in the market. * Schedule projects in logical steps and calculate the time required to meet deadlines and preserve margins. * Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports. * Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project. Develop and implement quality control programs * Study job specifications to determine appropriate methods. * Determine labor requirements with the Operations Planning Manager and Project Engineer. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the installation, maintenance, and teardown of jobs. * Confer with supervisory personnel, customers, and co-workers to discuss and resolve issues. * Provide pricing estimates and Change Orders to customers for adjustments to resolve issues during the job's execution. * Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are followed on job sites. * Advise on technical and commercial aspects for bespoke events customer contracts / agreements. * Work with the customer on project design to achieve their objectives in reducing their reliance on diesel products, reducing fuel burn, and reducing their carbon footprint. * Identify opportunities to introduce green products and fuels in line with customer's sustainability aspirations. * Manage the P&Ls and planning for events projects, engaging the Sales, Fleet, Transport and Service teams to manage costs and resources efficiently and effectively. * Collaborate with Operations Planning Manager & Procurement to arrange suitable contractors, suppliers, and stock to support events projects. * Compliance in maintaining (accurate and relevant) all project related information on the appropriate systems (Salesforce / FSL / ERP / shared drives); this will include keeping a record of all changes / amendments and ensuring plans and records of equipment and resources are kept up to date and ensuring 'as built' drawings are completed and available on Salesforce. * Notify the Operations Manager and Management Team of any variation from design and produce all documents for a variation order to the customer. * Identification of project risks and definition of countermeasures.

Sales Support

* Work closely with the Sales Team to develop and agree customer proposals prior to submission including the financial and technical viability, through the support of the operations planning manager and technical support manager. * To help in the development of nominated national and key accounts in the events industry. * Collaborate with the commercial team to identify growth opportunities within specific subsectors and accounts identified. * To monitor and report back any significant news about competitors (e.g. new products & personnel changes). * To approach each project with a view to innovate and improve our customer offering. * Provide support to customers on aspects such as, but not limited to, contract management, commercial disputes, and strategic change.
