As a U.S. Xpress Diesel Technician, you will be part of our elite fleet maintenance and preventative maintenance team. You'll handle tasks based on your experience level that are critical to maintaining a safe and efficient fleet. You'll enjoy a clean and safe work environment and industry-leading benefits, including:Career Advancement CertificationsUniforms & nitrile exam work glovesAnnual boot allowanceSign-on bonusShift differential payCompetitive base benefits packagePaid Parental Leave What you'll be doing (overview, not limited to this list):Test, service, and repair tractors and related mechanical componentsDiagnose and repair most transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systemsRepair/Replace bolt-on body parts such as hoods and cab extendersMaintain a high productivity level and complete jobs within or close to SRT times.Perform DOT inspections as outlined in U.S. Xpress guidelinesPerform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driverPerform 90-day lease operator inspectionsAccurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation What you'll need:Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferredA Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program may substitute for 1 year of the required experienceExperience in the transportation industry preferredComputer experience preferredValid driver's license required18 years or older to work in U.S. Xpress Shop EnvironmentMust provide own tools that are adequate to perform job functionsD.O.T and Brake certification required to perform PM's and brake workOEM Online certifications preferredTechnical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.Pass a standard physical performance test Apply Now!
