Position Purpose and Objectives:
The primary purpose of this employee is to assist Credit Union of
Texas in living out its vision to deliver an unexpected experience.
To achieve this goal the employee must provide outstanding service
to both internal and external members.
As the introductory level sales position in the CUTX loan sales
operation, the Loan specialist is responsible for working all
referral opportunities for members and potential members,
proactively seeking opportunities to teach how our personal
consumer loan product solutions (personal loans, credit cards and
lines of credit) may best resolve financial needs, and providing
recommendations with confidence and clarity. The Loan Specialist
answers questions related to new and existing personal loan
applications and develops deep and loyal member relationships by
providing counseling and guidance as they guide the loan process to
closing. They assist teammates in securing and closing business
through inbound and outbound calls, email and other channels.
The Loan Specialist is held accountable for helping CUTX meet and
exceed goals by reaching individual personal loan application
volume and cross-sell referral goals. They are also responsible for
assisting team members and other departments in meeting or
exceeding goals by providing all members that they encounter with
an unexpected experience and referring business to other
departments when appropriate.
Major Duties and Essential Functions
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this
position:
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalency and
six months Credit Union experience or similar financial
institution. Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are beneficial.
Experience in a consumer lending role, or other sales-related
experience is a benefit. Must have a proven track-record of setting
and meeting/exceeding personal and departmental goals.
