Job Description:

Turner Industries Group Pipe Fabrication Division is hiring a Maintenance Technician for temporary work at our fabrication shop in Paris, TX. This position is a temporary position, scheduled to last approximately 6 months. Job does not pay per diem. Local candidates only. The Maintenance Technician will work under the direction of a foreman, assembles, sets up, adjusts, lubricates, maintains and repairs all types of equipment. This equipment includes but not restricted to: cranes, welders, mobile equipment, dust collectors, bins, rails, fuel tanks, irrigation, construction equipment, electrical, plumbing, sewage, paint, and blast Functional Requirements: Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift; repairs equipment such as internal combustion engines, air compressors, pumps, etc.; may fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields or other devices according to blueprints or other schematic drawings; may perform the duties of a welder in the repair of equipment; maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times. Qualification Standards:

  • Preferably (3) years of industrial maintenance experience working with 480 volts, 3 phase electrical circuits in conjunction with general mechanical industrial maintenance experience.
  • Technical training in an electro-mechanical associate's degree program preferred/HS Diploma or GED required. Certifications and/or documentation must be provided.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, electrical schematics and hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
  • Ability to work on mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts, mobile cranes, etc.
  • MUST POSESS A VALID DRIVER LICENSE
  • MUST PASS TURNER CRANE CERTIFICATION TEST
  • Pre-employment/Post-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation if applicable
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group Indoctrination/Job site orientation
  • Job site 'Personal Protective Equipment' requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, OSHA approved corrective eye wear, Z-87, if applicable.)

Physical Involvement: Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction Mental Involvement: Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards Work Environment Factors: a.) Location: industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop b.) Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground levels; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas c.) Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances Miscellaneous Requirements: There will be times that the individual may be required to perform a task other than their normal operation as required by the company or the foreman, owing to the job demand.
